Kabir Luthra of K-Pro, thinks that by outsourcing specific services, construction companies will be able to focus on what is important - winning new business and assist in pulling the industry out of recession.
Outsourcing services has been around for many years in the IT and financial sectors, but has yet to make an impact on the construction market. More and more global companies are choosing to outsource for a number of reasons - cost-effective services, increased efficiency, increased productivity, shared risks, reduced operating costs, increased quality, better services and more time to focus on core competencies. So why has the construction market been slower to embrace this concept?
Luthra thinks that it is because of the culture of personal relationships within the construction industry, but as companies work globally and methods of communications continue to improve, he feels this is less of a barrier now. |
